U-SEAL™ Concrete Countertop Sealer (2-Part System)

A Concrete Sealer That Won’t Peel, Cloud, or Fail in Kitchens

  • Natural matte finish (no plastic look)
  • Food safe after full cure
  • Designed for countertops, GFRC & precast
  • Excellent stain, water, and wear resistance

Why U-SEAL is Different

Most concrete sealers either look good or perform well—rarely both.

U-SEAL combines urethane durability (for strength and chemical resistance) with acrylic workability (for easier application and repairability).

The result is a sealer that bonds well to concrete, resists staining and daily wear, and maintains a natural, low-sheen appearance without the heavy, artificial look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is U-SEAL food safe?
Yes. U-SEAL is food safe after full cure (typically 5–7 days) and will not break down into harmful compounds when used properly.

What finish does U-SEAL leave?
U-SEAL provides a natural matte to satin finish depending on application technique and number of coats. It enhances the concrete without creating a thick, plastic-like appearance.

Will U-SEAL darken my concrete?
U-SEAL is enhancing, meaning it will slightly deepen the color of the concrete—similar to how the surface looks when wet—but without excessive darkening.

How durable is U-SEAL for kitchen countertops?
U-SEAL is designed specifically for high-use surfaces like countertops. It offers excellent resistance to water, oils, common food exposures, and daily wear.

How long does it take to cure?
Initial cure is approximately 24 hours for light use. Full cure is typically achieved in 5–7 days. Avoid heavy use, standing water, and harsh cleaners until fully cured.

How many coats should I apply?
For best performance, begin with a saturation/primer coat followed by multiple thin coats. Typically, 4–5 total coats provide optimal durability and stain resistance.

What is the coverage rate?
Coverage depends on the porosity of the concrete, but generally averages 400–600 square feet per gallon. Avoid over-application, which can lead to bubbling or surface defects.

What is the mix ratio?
U-SEAL is a two-part system mixed at a 3:1 ratio (Part A to Part B). Once mixed, the pot life is approximately 2 hours. Do not use beyond this window.

Can U-SEAL be used outdoors?
Yes. U-SEAL is UV stable and suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

Is U-SEAL heat resistant?
Yes. U-SEAL can withstand temperatures up to approximately 350°F, making it suitable for most kitchen applications.

Can I repair or recoat U-SEAL later?
Yes. U-SEAL is easy to repair and recoat. Light sanding and proper preparation allow for seamless touch-ups.

What temperature should I apply U-SEAL in?
Ideal application temperature is between 40°F and 90°F. Do not apply below 45°F and protect from freezing.

Can I apply U-SEAL over an existing sealer?
It depends. U-SEAL may be compatible with some water-based systems, but testing is recommended. For best results, apply to properly prepared, bare concrete.

Why do concrete sealers fail, and how is U-SEAL different?
Most sealers fail due to poor bonding, moisture issues, or weak coatings. U-SEAL uses a hybrid acrylic/urethane system to improve adhesion, flexibility, and durability.

What happens if I apply it too thick?
Over-application can cause bubbling, foaming, or uneven finish. Always apply thin coats.

Do I need ventilation when applying?
Yes. Proper ventilation is recommended during application, even though U-SEAL is water-based and low VOC.

Needed to reseal an outdoor kitchen area and and a friend recommended this sealer. I sealed it last fall and it still looks like the day I sealed it. Easy to apply and looks really nice.
